What I believe

10 things I believe as a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ

To cover everything that I believe would be a tall order for a small web page on a blog site! However I would like to take the opportunity to state the following fundamental truths from God's Word the Bible that I believe.

  1. First and foremost I believe in an eternal, righteous and holy, all-present, all-knowing and all-powerful creator God.

  2. I believe that Jesus Christ is God's well beloved Son. He possesses all the divine characteristics and attributes of God.

  3. I believe that the Bible is God's Word, it is infallible and inspired (God-breathed) and as such every word is true.

  4. I believe that "all have sinned" and that if we die in our sins, unrepentant and unbelieving we will be judged by a holy and a righteous God for our sin.

  5. I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ came from heaven into this world "God was manifest in the flesh" and that he led a sinless, spotless life bringing pleasure and glory to his father God.

  6. I believe that "Christ died for our sins, according to the scriptures" He has paid the price for sin and because of this we can be saved by acknowledging our sin to God and asking for his forgiveness, putting faith and trust in his Son the Lord Jesus Christ and taking him as Lord and Saviour.

  7. I believe in life after death as taught by the Bible. Heaven and a "place of torment", two distinct and separate eternal destinations for two distinct groups of people.

  8. I believe in the truth of baptism by immersion for believers as found in God's Word.

  9. I believe in the truth of the local assembly - groups of born again believers in a locality, gathering to the name of the Lord Jesus, following the pattern of a New Testament church as found in God's Word.

  10. I believe that as promised in God's Word, the Lord Jesus is coming again to the air to take his believing people home to be with him for all eternity.

Acts 17:11 "...they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so."
